Great price because you know the owner and are taking a back seat to those paying full price? Feel like I've heard this before somewhere on this forum...

If that is the case I don't feel terrible for you however the shop really should be able to spend a couple hours on that and be done with it. Nothing difficult about any of it. Suspension is time consuming but with shop tools should be no sweat.

Sort of....I dropped the car off earlier this week on Monday with only the brand-new Koni Yellows with H&R springs. Our (me and the owner of the shop) mutual friend then delivered the goods (differential, engine, transmission oil/fluid, filters, shock mounts, etc.) to the shop, and the last stuff arrived just earlier today on Wednesday.

Now, they are always busy. Right before Memorial Day weekend too so lots of customers' track toys and/or family cars coming in. Part of the reason why he gives me a better-than-fair deal every time is because I work on his schedule and don't demand fast turn-around times. Plus he knows his stuff - I met many of his customers now and know a few by name since they come regularly. Most of his customers, he's known for 10-25+ years!

There's literally dozens of BMW indie shops within 10 miles of my place but I keep driving over 25 miles round-trip to his shop for the past two years - since he always gives prices that make me feel like he's hooking me up when it's just fair but appears ridiculously low compared to everyone else.

made an appt w/ the indy for next tues. full brake job (pads, rotors, sensors, stainless lines), plus new rear tires (hankook ventus v12 evo2). the fronts are almost exactly halfway through the tread, while the rears are shot. 2/1 life ratio for fronts/rears is nice as far as replacing timing goes. plan to get Michelin PSS's all around when the fronts go.

Replaced my HU with a newer one. Not sure what to do with the current one with the bad volume (on/off) knob.

Yeah, I bought it like that and it just bothered me. Could not turn it off/on easily.

Coolant expansion tank replacement. Fixed the huge-ass leak.

    The culprit.
