Changed out my battery. Two questions:

    1) should I use some kind of grease on the terminal connections (some older cars people recommend vasoline or grease). All the BMW DIYs did say that.

    2) I lost my small screwdriver bit from the trunk it... it's somewhere "down there" under the battery box. What's the best way to get just that screwdriver. Buy new or are you all seeing pieces of trunk kits for sale in part-out cars?

I don't use any grease on any of my cars batteries.
Have you tried sticking a telescoping magnet down in there?

What did you do for your ZHP/ BMW / MINI today? #2

    Pre move-to-SoCal check up:
Airbag recall: ran out of airbags yesterday. D'oh!
tire rotation: done. Front tires showing a little inner wear they they said. Tires are almost 10k old
Alignment: A few numbers seemed off but the tech specifically noted that he suggested replacing both upper support bearings and redoing the alignment, and caster being a degree off on both sides (but completely even). Also noted the wishbones and CABs look aftermarket. Not sure if those would have an affect on caster (thoughts from our resident suspension experts?). I can always add new OEM parts to my list for when I do my suspension refresh.

I dunno. She said thats what was going to be replaced on my car, but no parts. I guess this will give me an opportunity to get to know the good people at Irvine BMW in a few months.

Washed X5. Soldered a resistor on the tach motherboard in 2002. And put the wagon back in garage after a few months outside
