Hate to burst your bubble but it's not going to take off what people traditionally refer to as orange peel. You'd need to sand that shit. Yours was some weird kind of f'ed up... I haven't seen anything like it before. It did work well though!

Orange peel in the paint needs to be wet-sanded and then buffed to be removed.

It'll also naturally go away over time with annual cleaning, polishing, and buffing. But it's not gonna happen swiftly.

Not always the case. A simple cut and polish does not remove enough of the clearcoat to where the orange peel is not visible. Wetsanding levels the clearcoat finish and buffing it returns the gloss back to it.

Orange peel is a type of effect that appears on the finish of automotive paint. It resembles the same texture as an actual orange peel. There is a couple of reasons to why it happens even on brand new cars.

Dropped the X at the dealer today for an oil service as the indicator popped up on the dash. While I was there and my Advisor was plugging everything into the computer, he notified me that it was also due for spark plugs, so they'd need to keep it over the weekend. Sounds good to me!

So, got a courtesy car for the weekend, brand new black on black 2015 X5 35i. Its by no means an ///M, but it has plenty of pickup for the everyday driver. Its not a sport model, but its pretty well appointed and it has all of the brand new technology items that I miss from our 2014 328d. The biggest thing I noticed is that the steering is incredibly light compared to the E70. Anyone that has driven an E70 will know how heavy the steering is on that model...

Anyway, stoked for more maintenance on the X.

I also changed the oil in the S2000 this morning. Not that anyone cares on here, but you know.

Nice review Joop! And for what it's worth, I care that you worked on the S2K
