    I would try connecting a piece of rubber hose to the vacuum gage and stick the other end into the dipstick tube. Choose a rubber hose that has an outer diameter that fits the dipstick tube and seals.

    The I.D of the dipstick tube is like 1/2"

    After all of that on my car it's not enough to even measure. The needle moves a tiny amount but it's less than 1 in. and the gauge I have isn't designed for that kind of accuracy. We can try Rando's car next time I see him.

    Sounds good. Thanks for the update. Hopefully John's car shows what a properly working system should have. When I tested my car it had no vacuum at all. At least yours has a small amount. It probably will turn out that even with a new CCV there is only a very small amount of vacuum.

    Anytime in the afternoons this week is fine for a quick test.

    Did you happen to look at the tubes under the plenum? Were they clogged, cracked or in bad shape? Now I'm considering going back and doing this. I did all but that and a bunch of other stuff at about 102k, I'm at 126 now.
