Both of my cars the yellow light come on right around 6k between oil changes. Less then a quart of oil is needed to make it to 7500k which is the oil change interval.

Valve adjustment, as part of a huge ordeal of work I'm doing. T-Stat, PS flush and reservoir, new VCG, machining my AKG steering coupler to make it perfectly straight, and other small stuff.

Again, surprised some of you change oil at 7k+ intervals. I know it's overkill but I use amsoil and changed every 4k

That's why we change at 7.5k, because anything less is overkill.
Personal preference to change it sooner and there's nothing wrong with that if you don't mind spending the extra money.
