nice, shawn! and yes - my packaging was the same. you'll forget about it when you use the tool.One step closer to diff bushings. Got the tool today. Not real impressed with packing...
LSD is on the way also.

the tool is marketed as an 'E46 subframe mount tool' which allows you to do the subframe mounts without entirely removing the subframe - so, yes, with everything still in place.
as for doing the diff mounts while the subframe is in place? the diff would have to come out, no matter what tool you're using. but that's not a big deal. but there should be room underneath their (i'm thinking of the E46 here) to use that tool on the diff mounts with the subframe on the car. you might need to remove the support brace for the driveshaft to get enough clearance on the front side... but that's easy.
and other bushings? you could totally use this tool on the car for the rear outer upper/lower control arm bushings, and the RTABs.
