Well. Was planning to replace front control arms as I thought the front left clunk was a bad ball joint. Well... Good news is It was simply the top end link that was loose. Bad news is we didn't discover that until we'd already removed the PITA inner and outer ball joint nuts... But at least we hadn't removed the whole control arm. They actually appear to be in good shape (for Meyles...)
Thanks for the assist from NovaPhotog (Dan) and Don Adolpho with his wicked cool ratcheting breaker bar!
I also removed and softened my rear Koni Yellows and adjusted the KW springs a tad higher.
Didn't get to the LSD but got the exhaust hanging out of the way and removed rear sway bar and loosened the Torx nuts on both axels. Car is still on jack stands in the garage and I hope do work on it more this next week.
Time for a liquor drink!

"ZHP is a garbage option anyway- just some cosmetic upgrades with a different cam and diff to claw back some of the performance lost fitting those hideous and heavy wheels. Any 330 with a 3.46 diff will smoke a ZHP every time. The whole Mafia thing reeks of childish behavior." - an e46f member

Sounds like your making good progress! I'm still running my original control arms at 136k and they are still tight.
If you get in a jam or need to know how to do something faster on that diff swap, shoot me a text or a PM. As you've probably found out after starting it, it's pretty strait forward.

Thanks Rob. Dan gave me some pointers passed on from his time with you. I may phone a friend when I get ready to get to it...

Finally broke down and ordered the pre-painted rear deck spoiler from Bav Auto. Apparently some of the early cars came without them and I've been debating whether or not I really wanted to add it, but ultimately decided I like the looks better with the spoiler. 2-4 weeks for it to arrive they say, but the car isn't going anywhere during the winter!
