My next step will be to rebuild the front signal harness connectors (61132359999) and rear tail bulb holder harness connectors (https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...6tailrepairkit) and replace the rear bulb holders. I think (hope...) this will solve it because one of the bulbs in the passenger rear corner will not stay lit (flickers on and off) even though the harness connector is fully seated and the bulb has good contact with the seat. This was also the corner I performed the ground wire fix on.

Those look great! I usually don't like dish-style wheels but those work well.

I'm pretty sure it's supposed to work even without the driver pressing the brake pedal based on a couple of experiences I've had with other E30's...

You don't need a $300 LCM; you can just buy a used one off of eBay for like $50.
If you need me to code VIN and mileage for you I can.

So have I, and all six of them when first started would flash the Check light on the instrument panel, as well as the Brake LED on the overhead check panel until you pressed the brake pedal. This is from the Bavarian Autosport Blog page, where someone was asking a question regarding the brake check light on their E30:

"On the E30 chassis (3 series 84 through 91), it is normal for the BRAKE LIGHT indicator on the Check-Control display to come on when you start the engine (along with the CHECK light in the instrument cluster). Both lights should go off the first time you hit the brake pedal or if you press the CHECK button on the display panel."

If yours did not operate this way, someone modified the circuit so that it would not illuminate the check light at startup. I have heard of owners doing this before, due to issues in the circuit and the annoyances it caused.

Mine worked fine up until about a year of ownership, then it started doing that stupid CHECK thing. It wasn't modified in any way.

E30 owners manual says it lights up and then goes away after depressing the brake pedal: http://jon.bimmerfest.com/bulletins/e30_manual.pdf (page 25)
