In all probability the LCM is still good. I think all it does is do what the light bulbs tells it what they are doing......and all it does is control the distribution????

The fog lights are not monitored by the CANBUS, so the fog light configuration itself wouldn't cause any bulb our errors or hyperflash. The only connection I could see is potential damage to the LCM that may be caused by the HID fogs. When I had HID fogs, my instrument cluster lights would flash for a split second when I pressed the fog light button to turn them on. Others have reported the same thing, so it's a possible connection.
I have all normal halogen parts and I have a bulb out warning light on my dash every time I turn the head lights on. All of my bulbs work just fine and I haven't changed anything in 18+ months.
I started a thread on it, and best thing people came up with was that my wiring is bad.

Yes that's correct. Flashing the brights, turning on the fogs, or using blinkers doesn't not result in the error.
When the error does happen, it won't go away until the car is turned off.

50 watt HID fogs are a no no with the LCM without using a relay. I haven't had a problem with 35 watt directly connected to both my 330 and M3 LCM.

I've had this for the past few days as a loaner from my friendly BMW Head Tech while he's doing some maintenance to my ZHP during weekdays. Really nice of him. Although I have to charge it all night long after driving to to work both ways which would be 3/4 charge by the end of the day. Drives like a golf cart when accelerating and decelerating to a stop.

In both of your cases, you really should use INPA to figure out what the LCM thinks is wrong. If you don't have it, either find a local member that does, or just buy the stuff and set it up (these days you can get everything for < $30)
Gave my front extra negative camber today while changing a less aggressive OEM toe in.
