What did you do for your ZHP/ BMW / MINI today? #2

Nothing on the ZHP this weekend, but gave the M3 some attention.

Subframe pulled, doing AKG reinforcement plates for RTAB, rear sway, and rear strut towers.



Trunk gutted, strut towers prepped for the plates. Need to get a gas bottle for my Miller 211, don't want to burn these in with flux. May also do some additional work on where the rear subframe mounts to the floor.



Interior gutted, switching to black carpet and Modena seats and panels from the factory Mulberry anyway and wasn't in a hurry to light it on fire while welding. Also pulled out an old alarm and tidied up the wiring.

I was going to do that to one of my Breytons with a sawzall but never got around to it...

I took my M3 to a big area car meet (broke.east.meet v3) then drove it to Boston to pick up an old friend. My M3 felt so perfect on the roads today and my friend was impressed by how easy it sliced thru traffic (was going 5mph over the posted speed limit guys...) She told me she was surprised by how low my car was and how comfortable the car was to sit in while I was driving. It was an awesome day and afternoon. Finished the day by giving my M3 a nice wash and tucked her away inside the garage...

You're talking about the sub frame reinforcement, yes? Never heard of a kit for RTAB...Good idea doing it preventatively. I plan on doing this someday when I have a lift. Not going to attempt welding laying on the ground. I'm probably going to go with the Redish kit when the time comes.

Crowded! A lot of people went. I was VIP on the track, met a lot of cool people today











This was just my area at the track. The event was still filling up as I was leaving. I was there from 09:00am to 2:30pm then I had to leave. Leaving this place was an adventure in itself. Lots of fun though.

Later on just before I left the event, a few Lambos pulled into the scene. There were a mix of pretty much everything to suit anyone.

Not my cup of tea but there were cars like this at the event...
