I'd rather a car that's perfect inside, outside, and mechanically.

It's not the car you drive, it's how you drive it.

    • Oil pan gasket
    • New oil filter housing (check valve was broken on the original)
    • Cold Weather PCV + Updated dipstick tube
    • Hydraulic tensioner & pulley, idler pulley, AC pulley, and belts
    • Waterpump, expansion tank, and hoses
    • M3 engine mounts
    • M3 transmission mounts
    • ECS Stainless Brake lines + Motul DOT5.1 fluid
    • Oil change w/ Castrol 0w-40
    • Previously had done ZHP control arms, Z4M bushings, E46 M3 RTABs, upper/lower ball joints in the back, brakes + rotors, intake air filter, cabin air filter, and Pilot Sport AS3 Plus tires

Cosmetically this car is still a little rough around the edges, but mechanically it should be sound.
Not sure about your mileage but keep in mind about the fuel pump/filter.

  3. Bunch of things, I had my preferred shop do a bunch yesterday:

Oil filter housing gasket, Vanos line
Coolant system replacement - Radiator, Expansion tank, hoses, Water Pump (metal impeller!), thermostat, and belts
CVV, Intake hoses replaced, including replacing the lower intake boot, which was cracked
    Brake fluid flush/replacement

Those were done shortly before I got the car, but yeah, definitely something I would have done otherwise.

Had my car tinted with LLumar CTX-40. The tint that was on it when I bought the car was in rough shape with some cleaner damage on the side windows and the rear window was full of bubbles. It only took me three years to get it re-done. Now it looks amazing!

Replaced the cabin filter today and looked over the rear subframe- the rear bushing for the diff has some cracking, so I just ordered Lemforder replacements for that and the two front diff bushings. Ordered some more small parts for the M3 as well.

What did you do for your ZHP/ BMW / MINI today? #2

    Mounted some fun tires on!

Compared to my DW and DWS, I feel like my butt dyno lateral grip is similar. If the PSS is just a bit better, it doesn't make a difference in my grin when I hit apex at max velocity. What I do feel is a nicely controlled progressive slide when I instruct the LSD to make the rear shoes do the moonwalk. The tires just seem to feel more predictable under that scenario so it lets loose smoother and gains traction smoothly too. The ride is quieter and softer feeling which I really love. I've got to stop sliding and start gripping more so I can feel the side to side turn in next. I'll have the week to play around since it's dry!

Previous rubber was really low from not changing my RTABs in time. I then had to make a risky move and swap right to left tires (inside to outside) and set rear camber to max so I could use my DWS up more while I searched for replacement rubber:

This rear tire configuration created easy drift in the wet and tenacious "slicks" grip in the dry. So two totally opposite spectrums of handling which yielded a lot of fun but slightly dangerous if I wasn't paying attention. Now it's all fixed so I shouldn't be able to initiate a drift in 6th gear at 60mph in a moderate corner. LOL
