yeah thats a bummer @Prestovie. Happened on my old e30.. first, the front, and then at some point the rear exploded after a car wash.

I imagine the changing weather and the use of heat may have contributed to your troubles?... especially if that's the OEM windshield.

This is the reason I get full glass coverage with my insurance. I paid absolutely nothing for a new windshield last year.
I do feel your pain though - a cracked glass really can get under your skin.

Yea that might have contributed to it, my blower was on when it cracked, about 29F outside. Pretty sure it's OEM

Didn't know that was a thing up until now, may be looking into that for the future..

I would check the policy to see what the limits are or if they mention glass coverage anywhere.

Also, tape off or remove your lower trim since there's a good chance the dealer will scratch it.

I replaced my windshield almost two years ago at the dealership. Total job was something like $800 and change, which include almost 500 for the window, 300 for the labor and some fees or taxes. Likely in MA your windshield is cover by insurance and there were no limitations. It's actualy interested since my insurance policy is $950/year.
