I can't speak for the 550i, but I can definitely vouch for the 540i. It is no slouch, and is actually very tossable around an auto-x course as it doesn't feel its weight. Ask me how I know.![]()

I didn't toss too much around but both feel reasonable light the 540 more. The 550 power is more my style. It feels like my car but smoother which is great. The only problem is the 550 is like double the acceleration power as mine without any drama or excitement. I just gassed it and it smoothly rocketed me to jail-time speed. My E46 maybe a ton slower but the way it gets there makes my neck hairs stand. The 550 would be a good car to keep up to an M3 with grandma in it so she doesn't feel any speed. LOL

E46 will be classic soon! Then collectors. Then antiques.
My street is being repaved so all asphalt is gone. This morning I had a gravel ramp to leave. When I came home this afternoon there was no ramp. So I had to climb it sideways. PSS taking it for the team:
Only used half the sidewall to get up on a 45° angle. I had to try two times to get it right so I didn't back into the flower bed. LOL.
And then the yellow cookie rolling pin came by just after tucking in the blue Cookie Monster.
Wait for it.....
What a trunk lid!![]()
