Got a little bit crazy!!
Just to install a dashcam...
And a Bluetooth phone handsfree/APT-X lossless audio receiver...
Why this mess? Because the Bluetooth receiver/mic needed to in a line of my voice and front passenger, along with being hidden behind a steering wheel so any LED lighting doesn't distract. So it needed to go alongside and behind the steering column, behind the deck, and out into my glove box where my USB power and aux input is.
The cable for the dashcam was heavy gauge and to hide it I needed to run it along side the cables behind the pillar but not block the airbag from deploying. Got a bit of play under the headliner for flexibility. All of my windshield mount mobile phone power is wired along the front defrost vent and down behind the dash directly along side the fuse box, straight into the glove box.
I don't like wires showing at all and I like everything to be nice and clean!

When I installed my auto dimming mirror, I used the factory harness for it which means it had to run from the mirror down the A pillar and to the fuse box... What a PITA. I feel your pain![]()

Doesn't look fun to install but I'd do the same. I hate wires showing. What are the models of both items you're using?
Would love it if you put the dash cam review in here: http://www.zhpmafia.com/forums/showt...-think-of-them
It only took 5 mins to button everything back up. LOL. E46 interior is relatively easy to work on! It's only a pain when you're on a time crunch. I was learning of new places to hide my recreational substances.![]()

Looking at RealOEMParts and Tischer's GetBMWParts.com, None of the Sport Seat Coverings show as NLA. There were many offerings. There were real leather and imitation leather in several colors along with all of the fabric combos. I checked the pricing on the black real leather coverings. GetBMWParts.com shows the upper and lower for one seat at $1,423.11, which is a bit more than my Lazer/Antracite cloth at $1,067. Not sure how much inventory there is on these around the world. When I ordered the covers for my driver seat, the seat base cover showed up at the dealer in about 3 weeks, but the seat back cover took about 10 weeks to arrive. It is possible that BMW contracts to have these made to order when out of stock (if so, not sure how long they would continue to do this given the age of our cars), which could explain the delay. Just shipping from Germany usually only takes about 5 weeks. BMW historically would keep Schwarz interior components in stock long after every other color went NLA. At least in the E30 world, not sure if that is still true for newer models.
