    bummer man... how old is your son? any way you can spend more time with him than every other weekend? that would be so hard for me.

    If you like animals, working at your local humane society is a great way to volunteer/play with animals for an afternoon.

    A person from my old work place organizes an event called auto clinic every 6 months. About 20 of us would volunteer to perform oil and filter changes, fluid top ups, tire repair/replacement free of cost, for people who can't afford to pay for these things. The materials and consumables are funded by a local church I think. Usually lasted about 6 hrs and we would service about 70-80 vehicles...

    reiterating/adding bold. tinkering with these cars is fun and all but there's a lot more life out there to live and no shortage of living beings in need that would love for you to share your time.
