Thanks Shawn, that's not the right one though.
I did find what I needed at a pick n'pull that I just found near me. Best of all: I didn't have to pay nearly $40 for the screws from the dealer, and the foams were intact.

Honestly, as long as there's an E46 sedan that hasn't had its mirrors pillaged, it's pretty easy to get these things. All they had were pre-facelift 323's and 328's, but thankfully the mounting hardware is the same for those as the later cars.

A faulty steering angle sensor would trigger pretty lights on the dash, yes? I don't have the lights, but when my wheels are straight, my steering points to around 11:15-11:30...

That's not enough of an angle to trip the error lights.
    You need an alignment.

Or possibly you put the steering wheel back on the wrong notch, but I would wager you'd notice the issue immediately.

Thanks, BP. Another alignment was going to be in order before year end anyway, as I'll be doing more suspension refreshing.

I thought I paid pretty close attention, but I'm not saying it's impossible I effed up during the clock spring replacement.

It's really the only logical conclusion.
