Also better range when it's mounted up high. I'm trying to find a decent place to put my V1 now.

Right over the top left corner of your rear view mirror. Well not above it, there isn’t any space but to the side of it. It may impact your sun visor going down all the way but I’ve never had too much of an issue with the visor angle.

Another mount you can purchase connects to the rear view mirror. You’ll have to see if it even fits because from my memory our mirror doesn’t have much of an arm for anything to grab onto.

I’ve heard you can also tap into power on the mirror, but don’t quote me.

Any ticket related to speed is a moving violation, which does impact insurance. How much above does matter, but it will still affect insurance even if it's below +9.

Any moving violation is worth fighting. Every time I fought something, I didn't bother with a lawyer. I just showed up and they always knocked it down to a non-moving violation.

Knew he was coming for me so i accepted my fate and pulled all the way into the right lane for him to pull me over. Really nice guy, gave me directions and all, but also gave me a fat $200 ticket. I’ve talked to a few people about it and they recommend fighting it so that it doesn’t stay on my record, insurance is high enough as it is.

Of course my radar wasn’t plugged in because i was charging my phone. Classic.

    $200 is a lot?

    I got a 12mph over ticket 8+ years ago that was $430.

You’re right. I was remembering incorrectly in that (at least in NC) almost every judge will classify anything +9 or under as “improper equipment,” which does not get reported to insurance. Obviously ymmv.

Edit: in fact I think I heard in my defensive driving course you can’t even do a PJC in NC for a single-digit offense. But that was 13 years ago.
