pedro2u ... can you post a pic of the warning triangle ? where does it go ? My tool kit looks like this. I bought 3 tools that were not included at the factory. From left to right: spark plug socket, wheel pin, and lug lock key.

    Spark Plug Socket = 71 11 1 181 460
    Wheel Pin = 71 11 1 093 774

I wish I knew about that wheel hanger tool before I bought an "aftermarket" one.

Just finished wrapping the lower trim. It'll do for my first stab. There were numerous errors. It's pretty tough, between the relief cuts, folding around curves and trimming excess. Some of the relief cuts went a bit too far in and I used two "bandaid" pieces on the bottom of the left edge. There's a few wrinkles and the trimming was a bit sloppy. I'll pass on trying the upper trim.

My car is a 2005 convertible, so maybe a different tool kit than yours? But yes, completely different. The Triangle fits in the rectangle across the top of the image. I currently have a wheel alignment tool in a zip lock bag there. There's no spot for an OEM alignment tool. I've had 745i for 13 years and wished I had that alignment tool for all the tire swaps and brake jobs I've done!!

My expectation is that this trunk tool kit would never get used (or very rarely) so it should be pristine. The PO must not have owned any tools at all if he had to rob them from here. It was missing the tow hook (I bought a new one already) which is the only tool I'd think that might get used. But also missing the pliers, and the screwdriver.

Maybe not true on the E46, but I’m pretty sure the triangle only comes on newer BMWs if you do Euro Delivery?

Good thing is: it looks better in person. Here's a picture with better lighting (sunlight).

I had read that it was for Euro versions only, but other forums have talked about it in some US models. I have also just read that the convertible tool kit is different, and coupe/sedan's would have the triangle mounted somewhere near the CD changer, and requires a bracket to mount

Yup, my coupe was a euro delivery and the safety triangle is mounted in the trunk on the left over the plastic bit, like so:

and here it is installed. Just waiting for the screwdriver now. Anyone know what goes in the small slot in the upper right corner (to the right of the red triangle)? I've never seen any pics with something in that spot
