I ordered this steering wheel back in May and it finally arrived today... my 997.2 Sport Design steering wheel in alcantara.

I already sourced the airbag for this steering wheel. I will wait for the dew point to go down before doing this upgrade...

    Thanks guys!

Today I reached one of many milestones with my Porsche...

Kinda funny I'm posting this because my road warrior has just over 206k and my M3 has just over 176k on their respective odometers... I know my garage queen will always have much lower mileage than my BMWs...

Now that I have 50k on the odometer I will swap out steering wheels so that all three of my cars will have alcantara steering wheels...

btw.... I love that my Porsche's speedometer goes up to 225

Congrats on the 50k milestone. I just noticed the labels on your signature (garage queen, track toy, DD).

    Charlie's 2008 Porsche 997 turbo

The 997.1 steering wheel my speed sled came with was a nice steering wheel but I have been wanting to swap this for a newer 997.2 Sport Design Alcantara steering wheel so today I performed the swap.

I used a T-55 bit to remove my retaining screw...

With the new steering wheel in place (pictured above) I could see a more pronounced gap between the steering wheel and where the retaining screw goes in but that was not a problem...

The new steering wheel went on without any issue and I used the new screw (which came packaged with my new steering wheel) to secure it.

Got the airbag module connected and installed, then took off the protective wrap and took these two pictures...

Now all three of my cars have alcantara steering wheels mounted in them
