    I'm looking at getting a cup kit and I want to replace my strut mounts with the Z4 mounts in the process for more low. When I look up Z4 mounts on places like FCP they just end up showing the mounts as interchangeable with E46, which they indeed are, but that makes it hard to ensure that I get the lower mounts on the left vs. what I currently have which is on the right.

    Does someone know where I can get the lower mounts and not risk being sent the tall mounts?

    That is interesting. What is the advantage of upgrading to Z4 part? Higher durometer rubber compound?

    Looks like about 1/3-1/2” drop up front without having to get different springs. I’m curious if/how much it changes the caster angle.

    Spenser is spot on, the Z4 mounts are a popular upgrade over at the German E46 forum to get 10mm lowering in the front without changing springs. They are also supposed to be a little stronger (what Meyle would call heavy duty) as they use less rubber, but they are heavier as a result. They seem to be hard to find outside of Germany.     If I understand correctly, early E46 models came with these as standard, but facelift models and ZHP's came with the updated taller design.

    Edit2: You know what would be even better than lowering the ride height, though? More camber and caster. Check out my posts on this thread and let me know if you want to try out the e36 M3 mounts that I have in the garage (you can take them and my spring compressor next week when you're in CLT). I don't even want any dollars -- just want someone to prove this concept out since I don't have time.

    I'd be down to try out the E36 M3 mounts. The E36 mounts are technically also usable on E46 suspension, so if the E36 M3 mount fits on E36 non-M, then it will fit on the E46 as well. Since I'm looking at getting the B12 Sportline soon (backordered atm), it probably makes the most sense to wait until I get the kit and then assemble it with your mounts. I'll let you know when the kit comes in, right now it looks like it will be at the beginning of next month. I can postpone my trip until then.

    I’m quite certain the strut mount was not changed based on year. That’s a huge change to be using the same springs between the years, which they did.

    Especially since the Z4 did not exist until after the E46 facelift occurred.
