That was my reasoning for ponying up for a QJ too. I kept thinking that I would really regret not spending that $1k with a car laying on my chest.

Got the front up and on stands. As I just got the back wheels off the ground, the jack stand LF dropped two positions. The car was undamaged, and I wasn’t under it. I believe what happened was jacking up the rear caused the LF jack to lean reducing the pressure on the mechanism. I have had these stands for 30 years or so. Guess it was time to upgrade.

It was also $1,199 last November when I bought mine, but their holiday promo was a $150 holiday discount - so $1,049. But should have bought one years ago......

Yeah, agreed. I still use jack stands but always have multiple redundancies such as a couple tires and the jack itself (though not under load) when I'm under my car. When I'm at the track I see so many people under their cars with it just on the jack, doing setup changes... smh

Shout out to the tire method. When I was installing my Eibach sway bars, the tarmac suddenly collapsed and the car tipped over and fell. Luckily I put one of the rear tires under the car which caught it. All it did was pop out the side skirt. Lifesaver right there.
