I take it they look like this?

They don’t look too bad although It’s obvious I won’t be using those since I already got my GC kit

I do appreciate that you posted an alternate solution, that way hopefully it will help someone reading this project thread

    My Mystic Adventure...

Another update to blauzed’s project. I found something else in my M3 garage to install

Edit: I found a brand new set of aluminum pedals tucked away sitting on a shelf in my garage so I decided to put most of it to good use. The only part of this kit I’m not using is a dead pedal since I have an M3 dead pedal installed

Overnight parts from Taiwan or Charrie's garage in this case

    My Mystic Adventure...

So my friend sent me this lit F10 M5 shift knob which came as an unexpected but welcome surprise

So this is how it arrived packaged and I took the pictures above using my iPhone. I wanted better quality pictures of this shift knob so I grabbed my Nikon and took these pictures.

I have a lit F10 M5 shift knob in my M3 thanks to Tony so it is nice to be able to add this one to my ZHP

I treated the shift knob with Leatherique treatment before separating it from it’s leather boot…

Only thing left is to order the plug that will attach to the shift boot allowing it to light up so Botond was kind enough to provide the part number so I could order the part.

Once I get this part I will install the new shift knob in blauzed then package up my pristine OEM ZHP shift knob to pay it forward to sockethead for all the help and friendship he has provided to me over the years

    My Mystic Adventure...

I swapped shift knobs today and got my brand new OEM ZHP shift knob cleaned up from my finger prints before getting it ready for transport.

Pulling it off and looking it over, there are no marks or blemishes of any kind on the leather surfaces of this shift knob. It still looks and feels brand new.

So it has been throughly cleaned and wrapped in a fine cloth-like material before being double wrapped in paper filling material…

Then put in it’s shipping box to be paid it forwarded to a fellow forum member

My new lit F10 M5 shift knob looks good against my Alcantara shift boot (iPhone pictures)

I might have to source another Alcantara shift boot for my M3

Thanks! I grabbed my Nikon and took these pics only to realize that I need to swap out my eBrake handle next....

Picture quality using a DSLR is amazing!

I can see I will be taking many more higher quality pictures of blauzed over the upcoming 2021 season...

    That looks great.

What's the difference between the ZHP and F10 M5 knobs, is it weight?

One is lit and the other is not. I have had the F10 M5 shift knob in my M3 for many years now and I love it. Both shift knobs are weighted and feel good when shifting. The M5 shift knob is shaped similarly to the ZHP shift knob. You really don't notice any difference between the two but I never took the time to do a side-by-side comparison because to me they look and feel the same.

To get an actual OEM ZHP shift knob that has been modified to be a lighted ZHP shift knob from leatherZ you will pay $357 and the lit F10 M5 shift knob with OEM lighting will run $294 from FCP Euro and you get lifetime warranty with the FCP Euro order. Another thing to think about for when the shift knob starts to look ratty years later....
