    Been Awhile!

Hello, Family! It's been quite a while since I've been active on here: been out on a long work trip and then busy getting the house ready to sell and move across the country this summer! Despite all that, I've done two things for my ZHP that have made me fall in love with her all over again.

First, drove this rental during my month-long work trip:

Made me appreciate the ZHP so much more than I would've thought! While it was fun to mash the right pedal and hear the Hemi V8 roar every now and then, it was much too long, wide, low, and heavy for my taste! (Seriously, its front splitter scraped on everything.) Getting back in the ZHP felt like taking off a weight vest and being able to sprint miles around a track!

Second, I installed most of Turner's shifter rebuild kit: poly rear shifter arm carrier bushing, new shifter ball bushing, and new shift rod joint (left out the Teflon oval front shifter arm carrier bushings as they didn't fit without grinding down quite a bit). Also ensured the UUC DSSR was re-installed correctly (washers where they needed to be to remove any slop in the pins). What a night-and-day difference!! Fairly sure the new shift rod joint is the biggest improvement, but the shifter finally feels like I had hoped it would back when first installing the DSSR.

You and me both. It's been years since I've been on here - life got busy, but I have been recently checking back and lurking from time to time. Brings a smile to my face when I see all the ol' timers still kickin' it around.

I did it today - bought some new seats for the ZHP to try out - BMW e85 M sport seats in fabric/leather layout. Heated, Manual adjust seats. I saw them on auction a few days ago and started feverishly doing research into them since I knew these are directly swappable into our cars (sedan/coupe anyways, I think convertible might need adjustments). The manuals are half the weight of powered and I rarely adjust my seats anyways. I've also been chatting with someone who's completed this mod to their ZHP to understand what it's like living with these seats. Excited to mod the car and try them out soon.

I have an alcantara interior that's in very good shape and in no need of replacement, so I felt this config would be the best one to fit right in with the current interior, plus I prefer fabric (no sliding around). I'm pretty sure the pattern won't match the ZHP/alcantara fabric pattern, but I think it will at least color match.

MAYBE I'll get a leather steering wheel to better bring it all together although my current Coby wrapped alcantara one is still holding up well!

I’m having my shop install the manual 3.07 rear diff since I’m running the auto diff on my sedan. Also got an oem slicktop headliner from dealer that they special ordered from Germany. I pulled the trigger on it even pricey before it becomes NLA.
