    My Mystic Adventure...

I'm continuing to put in lots of love into my high mileage ZHP

Part of the fun in rescuing this car is the restoration/rebuild knowing for me it is not about "how much" it would cost as it is how rewarding it is going to be to bring back a neglected ZHP into one that is well optioned/upgraded and is restored.

To me the end result on my ZHP will speak for my efforts put into it

I happy to see that coilover kit is on your car Charlie. Should be a great ride with great handling. Also, it looks like you making the same mods on this ZHP as you did with Imola. This is cool!

Sergy, as you have noticed . . . there are some mods I have also gotten for my current ZHP that I had on my Imola ZHP. Very observant
I really loved having them (Corsa TSE3 exhaust, Gruppe M intake, E90 hidden compass/homelink auto dim rear view mirror, my 19 inch BBS CH wheels, rear carbon fiber diffuser panel, and the OEM M3 side mirror retrofit I will be doing soon). Those are the elements I had that I decided I will replicate into my current ZHP as I really enjoyed having them.

There are other mods I have incorporated into my current ZHP build that I feel is an improvement over my original ZHP build in that I have incorporated the OEM M3 Gauge Cluster, G.A.S. CCV Replacement kit, the G.A.S. DISA kit, AVIN 4 head unit w/ BAVSOUND Speaker upgrade, and Bilstein PSS-10 coilovers w/ Ground Control Camber kit. I have more planned for my current ZHP build which will make this one even better than my first one.

There is always room for improvement. One thing I will also add to my current ZHP is an improved LSD from what I originally had from my first LSD. Still doing research but it will be an improvement over the other one.

    My Mystic Adventure...

My Bilstein PSS-10 coilover install is officially completed today with the installation of my OEM sway bar end links.

The SGT Adjustable sway bar end links were too short and was not used.

Also installed a new set of rear Michelin Pilot Sport AS 4 tires on my Style 135 wheels.

Next will be installing Michelin Pilot Sport AS 4 tires and internal TPMS sensors on my BBS CH wheels so I can use them this summer

I recently learned I now have tie rods to replace so I will start sourcing Lemforder tie rods (both inner and outer) as well as new boots and hose clamps to secure the new boots.

I was told my control arms are still in great shape so I can wait till later this season to replace them. Making good progress on my project

    My Mystic Adventure...

The pictures taken of my ZHP cockpit on the left was taken today and the one on the right not too long after I rescued my ZHP in July of 2020. It has been improved little by little in the three years I have owned my ZHP

The difference can and can not be seen between both pictures. What you can see is the gauge cluster is different and interior trim is different. On the right I had recently installed a full set of silver cube interior trim that I had on my last ZHP given to me by Botond. I have since put them away for the day when my interior is fully restored then I will reinstall my silver cube trim as the very last item for my interior refresh.

Since the July 2020 picture, I have retrofitted a lit M5 shift knob, retrofitted Shawn's Alcantara sedan seats w/ lumbar and upper side bolster support, retrofitted TPMS (BMW RPA) and electric rear sun shade, upgraded to LCM w/ sw4.5 and euro rear fog faceplate, installed the E90 hidden compass/homelink recessed grey clown nose auto dim rear view mirror, added the blue cruise control on/off switch on my steering wheel, and retrofitted the AVIN 4 head unit replacing the business CD Radio that came with my ZHP. Some changes are noticeable like my OEM M3 gauge cluster retrofit and others are more subtle like the TPMS/Rear Electric Sun Blind retrofit. All in all I am pleased with the progress and it all adds to the fun of driving this car as my daily.

fredo, sadly time has been going way too fast. I mean last month was my 14th year for my M3 ownership and this month marks my 7th year of ownership for my Porsche. Wow . . . how time flies!

I ordered my Lemforder tie rods and new boots tonight. Complete tie rod assemblies for both sides will replace the ones that are on there right now...

32106777504 tie rod assembly right side

32106777503 tie rod assembly left side

    Vaico tie rod boots

The Vaico boots come with these cheap clamps pictured above so they will be replaced with better ones pictured below

I don't want these clamps coming loose over time...

Once these tie rods are replaced I can then get a 4-wheel alignment on my ZHP to complete my coilover maintenance. Funny how surprises creep into the maintenance So much the better!

This morning I cleaned, polished, sealed and applied ceramic-based wax on my rear carbon fiber diffuser panel. I will be taking off my OEM plastic panel and putting this one on today

Thanks Brett for holding on to this panel after I sold my first ZHP then giving it back to me
