I think there is also the selector rod.

I think I remember him saying it wasn't needed when I was asking about UUC's DSSR. I'll check unless someone else here knows.

The selector rod is the bent part arm at the bottom of the shifter. It's backwards in the pic you posted though, it bends up over the front u-joint and then down. I really don't think it's possible to install it upside down though. What I'm not seeing in the pic is the pin where it attaches to the transmission, part #15 in this pic:

I've never seen this specific shifter so maybe it isn't even used but you should check in the instructions before tearing everything apart.
This is actually the OEM ZHP shifter:

You can see the bent connector rod and the pin is again #15

A few more. There is no pin in the box.

The instructions have you reusing the pin. Many people have reported that the front assembly as the source of slop but I've never heard which specific parts actually wear. Most just replace everything with one of these kits that also includes the pin:

It's highly possible that he didn't include it because it doesn't wear but considering the price I wouldn't want to get all the way in there and then realize I need a new one:

Thanks. Ronald (Owner) is going to send a list of parts that may need replacing. I will do the pin for sure.

After emailing with AutoSolutions, I do plan to replace both shifter bushings 52111222015 and 25117507695 as well as the dowel pin 2311466134.
This one? 25-11-7-507-695 Picture 18/19 (or 50)? http://www.pelicanparts.com/bmw/tech...t_Bushings.htm
Neither. referencing this pic:

He's talking about part #10 which your kit replaces with something undoubtedly harder and longer lasting.
If it was me, in addition to your kit, I'd replace both #2's, #5, and the pin #15. That covers all the reported sources of slop.
I think those are the parts I have targeted. Aren't pictures # 18 & 19 on pelican the same as #2 above (25-11-7-507-695)?

#10s are already addressed on this SSK (included).
Hmm, I thought that's where the 695 went. Do I need them and the 670 or is it instead of the 695?

The E46 used two different carriers. RealOEM show this one for up to 06/2003 and is the one in the DIY on Pelican

This is the one for E46 from 06/2003. It uses the carrier that is forked in the front and the bushings are 25-11-7-519-670

RIght JP. Those are new and included.
What I asked the shop to have on hand is:
#5117519670 (x2)

Additionally, one of these #25111222015, Bearing, shifting arm, and Dowel pin # 23411466134
+1 on the arrow! thanks for the mental assist guys :facepalm
Those will definitely help, but what I'm saying is the two most important issues regarding solving the slop have been addressed by this kit. The main issues are the cup and the bushing:

Every little bit adds up to a better linkage, your plan sounds good to me :)
Thanks for confirming JP. Can't wait until next Monday.
And you are the arrow master!

Got the Autosolutions SSK installed today. It sure is different--quite a bit more notch. I do like the feel though. The tech said he liked the design and it should last a lot longer than OEM--another 182k?? :fingerscrossed

Server error for the second video :-(
That's a lot of slop in the OE shifter!!
Sent from my GS3.
Both videos worked for me.
Anyone compare the Rogue Engineering to Auto Solutions SSK? Deciding between the two. Probably can't go wrong either either.
I know a few ppl who like the AS one btr. Not scientific but I trust their judgement.

It wasn't specifically designed for our car. They just took a lever from a different car and slapped it on. They initially gave me the wrong lever from a different car too. I got it replaced and it didn't change any of the characteristics lol It was slightly off center and didn't engage well in 1st and 2nd gear. It only reduced the throw by 10%, you got 4% more if you had the ZHP knob. It was notchy. It did reduce the slop initially, then after a few months became even worst than what I started with. It was built similar to OE. Aluminum lever, with plastic pivot ball. It reused all of the the shifter parts except for new washers/clips, and a new cup for the carrier. I don't even think it used a new selector rod.
Then dealing with them. OMG it's like dealing with Tesla. Such a PIA and they don't even respond and shit. I pretty much just don't buy shit from them if I can now.
Then I went with a full custom kit with AS that replaced everything. It was night and day.
This is just for the 330 6sp. For some reason the 330 5sp is like miles better than the 6sp. The reason why I went with RE in the first place was due to my friend's 330 5sp having it and it felt pretty good.
I ended buying the UUC evo3 shifter with the DSSR they had a great deal going on during Memorial Day I couldn’t pass up. They forgot to include the delrin carrier bushings. I contacted them and they shipped them out , waiting for them to arrive then I will install it myself. Read multiple diy and looks totally doable.

Mine would be considered the ultimate kit. Since it replaces everything. But for our cars, he only makes the lever, selector rod and stuff. He doesn't make the shift carrier/arm since he said our cars design is plenty good enough. I just forced him to make it for me :rofl
I'm running the Rogue SSK in my ZHP. I haven't had any problems with it at all. It came with a new lever that had their metal pivot ball, and a new factory carrier that had their cup welded to it. It also came with new style clips and hardware. I'm also running their old school high rise carbon shift knob. Myself and the few experienced people I've let drive my car have all been quite pleased with how it feels.
