what exactly does this hydraulic wheel do?
Does exactly what you would feel on any surface but from perfectly dry to complete ice. It raises the chassis from the suspension thus lowering traction on the corner that it's attached to. Lift the rears up to full height and boy, it doesn't matter how good you are...you're going for a ride and your front tires which aren't lifted are going to become the base of the pendulum. LOL. Lifting it up maybe 10% might simulate rain. Going to 50% may simulate snow/ice. Anything higher and it's just for fun...it's like half the car is in space. It's just a training tool that advanced driver training schools have to teach you the art of controlling an out of control vehicle.

Dang I love to participate in this!!! I think the main portion I want to learn is how to correct a spin in the event the steering wheel goes over 1.5turns. The main concern I believe is that I have no experience a full lock to lock correction in this car and I would like to practice the spin corrections. Perhaps the next skidpad day, I will have to try it out.
I'm getting tired of switching to longer bolts for the 12mm spacers every track day. I ordered some lugnuts for the car but still deciding on which wheelstuds to purchase.
Bimmerworld 82mm Bulletnose
TurnerMotosport 75mm Studs.
Hmmm
Well if you are in an uncontrollable spin and have the ability to lock the brakes, doing that prior to knowing what line your car will pick will at least give you a predictable line of "carnage" whether it's straight ahead on the track or angled off straight into the field of grass. :D Once you've slowed down then you will have to have quick steering work and unlocking the brakes to direct the spin somewhere else! Good luck with that. LOL

Its definitely a solution! I'll be sure to try this out. The other option was to just ultimately remove it during track preparation
Thanks JP

I have the BimmerWorld 75mm "standard" or "street" wheelstuds. They make wheel changes so much easier. Can support up to 12mm spacers but I found with 5mm spacer on front, you have to take a little care when hand starting each lug nut before spinning them on with the impact wrench. If I had a 12mm spacer it would be even more work to start each lug nut. If you don't mind studs sticking out a little more or think you might ever want at 15mm or 20mm spacer, I suggest go with the 82mm ones. Note that BimmerWorld 82mm studs don't have a hex end so you need to lock two nuts together to tighten each stud (with red thread locker).
A bolt to stud conversion should be done on any car that sees track time imo. It makes swapping wheels/tires that much easier.
