Hey ryan, could you pls send me details of your sound system setup? Though I haven't had too much time to play around with it (mainly been enjoying the awesome sounds of the car) I'm not impressed with the stock Harmon Kardon's...they seem to lack midrange dynamics (only controls I see are for treble and bass) and the treble isn't exactly crisp.

Maybe BMW stereos just aren't great in general, been riding in a friends '10 X5 and it doesn't even come close to the Nakamichi or Mark Levinson sound systems in the Lexus.

In Canada, my deductible for comprehensive is $300. Windshields are $100 to replace too!
I thought my deductible was $500, my step-father swore it was $750, and my mom looked at my papers... it's $1,000. Lmao my life.

Sucks to hear. (also, lots of the above are right. many policies will have different deductibles for comprehensive vs collision. Unfortunately at that time mine were both 500. now my comp is $100 or something really low. Good luck.

My mother spoke with him, because she gets antsy for answers and jumps the gun before I get the chance. I have to wait for her to get home to get what the agent said. A new mirror assembly is $360+ and with my employee discount, it's still $260+. I found a used Imola Red one for $175 shipped.

I'm hoping that I can get some help at the body shop and they can just quick spray the mirror cover when they do my fender after I sand it down and prep it.

Totally sucks man that your deductible is $1000. I just lowered the crap out of my insurance and figured out the tricks that they had regarding insurance since I was in the accident a few months ago. It really doesn't cost that much more to better coverage. Plus I just did the snapshot thing with Progressive so that lowered my insurance a good amount more. Good luck to you bro!

I had my deductible at $1000, figuring I only drive 8K miles/year, but freak accidents do happen. A $1K deductible proportionately does not lower your rates all that much, so you might want to look at $500 again just to validate. Definitely sounds like you'll be paying this one out of pocket?

Oh, forgot to mention... bought a black, used custom rear seat over made for a coupe, just in case the dog needs to ride in the car. Also good for picking up my sandy kids from the beach and not getting sand all over my car.

I should have a fully upgraded (stealth) sound system ready for the ZHP Mafia meet!

I don't mean to steal Ryan's thunder, but the biggest bang for your buck upgrades are in the front midbass and tweeter. The stock midrange driver is one of the best in the system. The Infinity Kappa 6.5s fit very well and offer a noticeable upgrade in kick over the stock midbass!

At least for us younger drivers, $500 vs $1k makes a pretty big difference for the premium. For my family it was something like 25% iirc.

What we did was set the comprehensive deductible to $100 and collision to $1000. The comprehensive barely increased our rates, and the freak occurrences are what I'm worried about anyway.
