For some it's the look and sound the airbox provides. If I wasn't planning to boost the ///M with the ESS VT550 kit, this is something I would seriously consider doing for my ///M. Afterall, it's more carbon fiber sexiness...Also, having a fully functional OEM CSL Airbox also adds to the exclusivity for the ///M...
Still....not worth the money since you will spend north of $4k for the airbox for minimal performance gain....if I'm going to plunk that type of cash then I will get the VT550 kit instead.![]()

I've looked those kits over and would love one as well but likely just the basic VT445 kit (or maybe VT455 since it's literally only $500 more for 50 ft/lbs more torque). Even on the highway doing a 3rd gear pull I don't get very far because the car is so damn quick. On paper the E46 M looks average as far as power numbers but IRL it is a totally different story.
What are planning on upgrading your clutch to? Flywheel as well?
