I've only ever totaled one car, not at fault, back when I was still on a plan with my parents. They (my parents) didn't take the first offer (1994 Acura Integra GS-R) and told me to never take the first offer if ever in that situation in the future (I went off their insurance after this accident occurred). Insurance companies want to get away with paying out as LITTLE as possible. They actually make bonus's based on how LITTLE they pay out. So I would be leery of any first offer, ANY.

    Good luck!

Good information. I will be compiling lists of cars for sale and receive ntill sales this year of similar condition and mileage. Lots of homework ahead.

What are the rules on being able to remove things from the car? Is that where buying it back and parting it out comes into play?
