I have not confirmed but it should work like the aux jack does. Incoming voice over car speakers and your transmission out via the phone mic.

Let me check that today guys. I know that device is supposedly only for audio streaming with no handsfree or headset profile. But I'll confirm how it works when a call is in place.

So I just tried it. No go. When I tried a call, the audio is via the phone only. So I had to switch the 5s to speaker (unlike using the aux jack wire direct to phone). Very weird and annoying. I guess you don't get much for $10. The other issue is it won't default back to BT over the device. I have to go back to settings in the phone and connect to it.

Mine works to Bluetooth automatic connection. When I get in it's connected. Sometimes it doesn't see it. My quick fix is to unplug and plug it in and voila it works.
You're right about the phone part. It doesn't have phone call abilities.
Guess that's what you get for $10!!
