Cool E46 Rear Fog DIY on Coupes/Verts

I have been doing some research lately and for those with coupes/verts they will need to do this to have functioning rear fogs

-> All E46 produced between 1998 to 2006 are pre-configured to accept rear fog lamps however not necessarily pre-wired (coupe/verts). What exists are bulb sockets, in-dash indicators, PIN 49 slot @ LCM, bulb holder circuits preconfigured to ground and power for the rear fog bulb.

To sum things up what is needed are the following:

    1. The LKM faceplate w/ rear fog lamp on/off button
    2. The power wire lead from PIN 49 on the original LCM body to the trunk lid bulb holder
    3. The bulbs and possibly dremeling the cover off the bulb sockets.

This DIY should cost around $30 (required bulbs, 20 gauge wiring, and the euro rear fog LKM face plate). This DIY should take less than 2 hrs to complete. There you go everyone! Whoever wants to add functioning rear fogs to their rides should have no problems now

This is a quick write-up so when i do this I will have pics to go with the write-up.

I believe you can use a sedan inner trunk bulb holder to minimize dremeling

I got my 80GB iPod Classic in the mail this afternoon

I then proceeded to erase what was on it (poor taste in music) and update the existing s/w then sync my iPod with my MacPro library. Ended up transferring close to 5800 songs and I still have close to 50GB left.

Installed this little guy inside my trunk and everything connected as expected with this pic

You can see looking at the iPod's battery life icon that it is "plugged in" and charging so no adapter needed in this case
My Intravee II recognized my iPod....so far so good

Then I got in and proceeded with final op tests… (pictures are grainy because I didn't want to use flash)

The iPod tested satisfactory and I now have my entire music library at the tip of my fingers so to speak while driving my car

One part of a few I'm still working on for the ///Ms audio system…
