Yesterday I spent some time with the new to me sedan, performed a baseline maintenance -

    -Transmission Fluid - Redline D4
    -Differential Fluid - Redline 75/90
-Brake Fluid Flush - ATE Typ200
-Power Steering Flush - Redline D4
    -Engine Oil & Filter - Motul 5/30 & MANN
    -Replaced heater blower motor
-Replaced cabin air filter - Corteco
-Replaced engine air filter - MANN
-Replaced upper radiator hose - OE
    -Replaced Radiator - Behr
-Coolant "flush"/Drain refill - OE BMW & Distilled
    -Replace spark plugs - Bosch
    -Ordered a Soundplicity III

I still need to replace the driveshaft flex disc, install the Z4M front control arm bushings, rebuild the shift linkage (feels a bit sloppy), and a new differential rear carrier bushing.

I also discovered the tire shop the previous owner used to have the new Continental tires installed just before I purchased the car did not pay attention to the staggered wheels - so the 225's are mounted on the 8.5" width wheels, and the 255's are on the 8" wheels... I'll have one of my techs swap those next week. Then the car will get a complete detail, and by then the roads should be clean enough to actually register and start driving it.

Took my ///M out and let her rip... between the sound of my S54 at WOT, the sheer acceleration of this beast and my restored car stereo sound.... it was bliss! Then I saw a police cruiser at my apartment complex and went over to the police officer and made a new friend It is always good to thank these guys and gals for what they do for our community

Getting closer to starting this little mini project on the ZHP:

Going to drop it off for a bath in a solvent tank next, then I'll be ready to swap it in on the first nice spring day.

All of that sounds excellent (and we always appreciate hearing that too!)

Last night, took the girlfriend out last night to dinner and met up with friends. Drove the ZHP and it felt good. The heated seats felt great on the way home! The girlfriend definitely appreciated them with her dress! :D

That valve cover is the M56 (325 SULEV) valve cover. Metal instead of plastic so it should be more durable. It also has a PCV built in, allowing you to hopefully delete the failure prone PCV from the M54

Parked my ZHP for the week

OE expansion tank, leaking OFHG, Idle hunt, squeaky pulley + LA Traffic + 3-4 hour commute per day does not add up well.

Next weekend, Vanos and CCV. And a wash, since it will be covered in pollen and look dusty as Fuuu.

Probably smart to leave it. Hope all of that maintenance will lead you closer to resolving your issues.

As for me, I got my new APEX ARC-8 17x8.5" ET40 Hyper Black wheels from the group buy mounted with Continental ExtremeContact DW 245/40R17 tires. I think they look great (ignore the dirt)! Now to find some BMW hub caps...
