I had a '67 cougar with a 351 Clevenland and 4.56 in it and a 4 speed manual. I could beat just about any car with stock gearing but 55mph at 3000 RPMs....I had a ‘90 5.0L Mustang with 3.73’s and it didn’t have the benefit of a sixth gear; It wasn’t unbearable on the highway with headers and a full Magnaflow exhaust. (It was considerably louder than my ZHP.)
IIRC, it was around 3k RPM at 75-80 mph.
Boy do I miss that car.
