Finally worked out to get Nate on-track for the SCCA’s last Track Night in America at Carolina Motorsports Park about an hour south of Charlotte. He’ll provide an update, I’m sure, but I hope this is something I can get him to do more often.



She desperately needs the brakes bled, so I cut my day short. Didn’t want to take any chances with soft brakes, but that’s just how it goes when you go 38 days without your car and try to take her to the track 3 hours after getting her back. It worked out well, in a way, because it allowed me to ride passenger/instructor for Nate.

The shop is really good, and knew my standards. They handled a lot of back and forth for me.

The shop’s front person told me I did not get the best of Progressive’s people in the area, and said that might have been part of my crappy experience. But she also said even I’d been working with the really good guy it still would’ve been a “mediocre experience at best. They’re just not very good to work with.”

The shop was able to do a couple things to keep the repair bill down, which resulted in Progressive no longer uttering the “T” word. Not cutting corners, just things like letting me help source a couple of parts to keep Prog. from paying outrageous prices for parts I can source much more easily.

I’ll be looking more thoroughly at her this week, but I think I’m satisfied thus far.
