Welp I couldn't just leave the RTAB pockets alone. Currently etching with POR15 metal ready before a couple coats of paint. Wasn't a fun job getting showered by rust and this will add another day to car work, but it had to be done.

In the end you will be glad you did this as a preventive maintenance issue. I have heard RTAB pockets rusting away and then requiring more work to repair the damage... Guess this is one of many things I need to put on my checklist since my ZHP is my daily driver machine.... looks like excellent progress was made here!

Thanks Charlie! Yes exactly... see here for an extreme example where the RTAB pocket has perforated:

Mine isn't nearly that bad but I'd imagine if I left it, years down the line it would be like that

No kidding!! Seems to me a great time to check is whenever you have RTABs replaced you have the RTAB pocket checked and then treated as a preventive maintenance measure...

Nice guy! I was just talking about this in Charlie's thread. Anyways you may want to re-upload your picture, I can still see all the censored text.

I didn’t look, since I just filled the tank for the second time this year last week!

    I think I’m good.

I believe Hagerty lets you drive 2500 miles/year, but no one ever came to check mileage. I moved to American Collectors several years ago. Thankfully never have had to make a claim with either!
