I did SS brake and clutch lines this weekend. I had the same concern, but it worked out fine (although to be honest I haven't pushed them very hard). Pedal feel is great. I used a Motive power bleeder and it was a piece of cake.Quote:

I have been doing some research, and I am getting warmer to the idea of performing an engine swap to my zhp. The power plant of choice (drum roll please) the LS1! Found a kit for the e46. Thoughts?

Depends on where you live. In CT, for example, the engine must be from the same model year or newer to be allowed. The stupid thing about this is that if for example you have a 2002 M3 and swapped an engine from a 2001 (same exact engine), this wouldn't be allowed. But, the engine from a 2002 or onward would be.Quote:

The emissions and model year law isn't a problem. Just a little unsure if I want to basically tear down my front end completely. But the reward is pretty amazing. It would create the ULTIMATE dual threat carQuote:

As much as I love the LSX motors, I think a swap would be a giant headache in the long run trying to get everything to work together properly. The only non BMW swap that I'd love to do is a 5.0 into an e30. Relatively easy and probably a f'n blast to drive.
Debatable, but I love boost. Really depends on what type of power curve you're looking for. 2JZ's are no joke when done right. Once boost hits, no chance for most cars. Alot of people are doing some serious work with the N54s. I think I'll pick one up whenever my ZHP is fully done.Quote:

Yes! I know the guy who owns that supra he lives in Springfield, MO. That thing puts out 1000hp and the turbo (single) is massive! My friend from when I lived there has a 99 Camaro Z28 that makes 597rwhp with an extra 200hp of squeeze. He had no chance vs that monster. He gave the Z28 a running start as well (no spray)Quote:

Yeah I've owned 2 boosted Mustangs myself, never cracked the 500whp mark, obviously because of my budget but I've been itching to build something again. Just trying to finish up the ZHP for DD/track duties first. The N54 cars have caught my eye. RB turbos + JB4 and they'll run. Quite a few single turbo buildings going on as well. Weight should not be an issue. They are very comparable. The LS series are all aluminum. Only steel in it is the crank. The T56 trans is also very light. Only know this from my 01 T/A daysQuote:
