The past few days I noticed my side mirrors don't work. I don't really adjust them much, so I don't know when they went out. The other day I got them working again just by fiddling with the adjustment on my arm rest while on my way to work.
Today they just don't work. Loose connection or something? Both the mirrors are affected by this.

Sounds like the driver side motor on the mirror is going out. Similarly something happened to mine. My mirrors were no longer adjusting and the heated mirror was still working on the passenger side only. Turns out replacing the driver side motor alleviated the problem. I plugged the car into the machine and had numerous faults for the driver motor inop (251 times).
The part number is 67 13 8 362 421. MSRP is $97.44
It was affecting both of your mirrors? Like I said, I don't adjust my mirrors a lot... so could it be the passenger side mirror that has a motor going out? Because that's the one that's constantly moving when I put the car in reverse.

The driver side motor is the master motor. If it does not work, it will cause the passenger side to be inoperative as well. The heating element on the passenger side mirror was still working however, so it confirmed it was the driver side. I also had access to BMW ISTA/P to look it up
Ahh good info! Thanks! Now I have to manually press my passenger side up because it's currently stuck in the 'down' position for curb lookout from when I had it in reverse

Got my OEM M3 side mirrors installed this afternoon......finally!!!!

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing when I took this pic. I ask myself why didn't the ZHP come with M3 side mirrors and oval rear view mirrors? It should have in my opinion
