I actually worked at the dealership while I was in college for electrical engineering. I actually made the mistake not to intern while in college and worked at bmw for the perks. That was a mistake that ultimately made it hard for myself to market to the EE field. I finally found an internship willing to take me on after 2 years of graduating. Now I am back in my field doing ASIC Design Engineer.

Hopefully this means in a year or two = new daily car. This means ZHP will have less compromises for street-ability.

Congrats Derbo. I still need to figure out what I want to do. I have a background in engineering and MBA but have since gotten into supply chain and dabbled in product marketing. Sorry to thread jack but it's cool to find people in similar areas. I just use ASIC in the SSD's we sell.

Thanks man. I'm working for a company that does design services so I am training to be part of the backend team.

I want to buy so many parts but it will have to wait at least 6 months..

It's been awhile since I've updated this thread. Nothing much has happened to the car since Sept. It's just been used as a workhorse taking me back from work to home and so forth.

I just got back from a Black Friday Bobs Donut Buttonwillow event!

Here is just a shot of the BMW while I take a look at my GoPro videos. I wasn't too happy with the Dunlops as they overheated quite fast as I picked up the pace but they were definitely managable. I like my RE11s better, but for half the cost the dunlops are pretty damn good!

I am SO jelly that you guys can have track events year 'round. No more events here for the winter.
I'm loving those wheels. They're really growing on me.

It's not the car you drive, it's how you drive it.

It is definitely interesting as there will be Dec events too. I am done for the rest of the year and look forward to maybe Feb/March to go again.

Here is my fastest lap. Oddly it was in the morning sessions hit a personal best of 2:08.xx.

Previously time a year ago was 2:12 so I'm stoked I past the 2:10 barrier.

extra footage: One session I decided to chase my buddy in his 540i m-sport and this was the result of his crazy ass..

I wish I took more pics, but I was too tired and sleeping during sessions. Can't wait to go again, but it will have to be next year around feb/march.

Thanks! The Apex wheels have definitely grown on me alot.

I've been building up a to buy list..

    • Bimmerworld bulletnose wheelstuds
    • Tuning: Eurocharge/AA/Shark
    • LSD 3.64 Performancegearing.com (need new diff mounts replaced anyways....LOL)
    • Carbotech XP12/XP10 step up for Brakes

These are the lighter side of things. Major upgrades I want to do is the S54 swap and new UUC TSE3 replacement... hmm.

I can't believe I watched the whole thing....

You use the space on the track nicely. Your lines are clean and I can hear it in the engine because there is not much fiddling/readjusting so you now the track well! Your buddy's 540i is movin' for such a heavy vehicle! It looks like it's got just a tad more high end in the long straights but it's weight sure shows when you have to brake early from extreme high-speed so the 3 and the 5 doesn't mate into a 4. His lines aren't as wide as yours, but I'm not sure what his car is doing. He likes to keep it tighter and not use the whole width of the track. I can see it in the way his suspension loads in the double corners/chicanes/S bends, he's really working that heavy beast!

Your engine sounds different! Or is it just a lot better sounding when on the ground...I'll have to try that and open my door, stick my head out the window while at WOT being careful not to slice my head off by the door.
