Over the past weekend, lights all around Wobz got frozen.
Pics below.
Light output is the same brightness, only it's more diffused. The inspiration for this was the Volvo S80, with its frosted-looking LED running/brake lights (don't remember which set of lights). It's a soft glow now compared to a sharp indication that LEDs typically provide. I get the glow of a halogen bulb with the sharp reaction of an LED.
Note: brake, turn signal, and reverse lights are all LED, front and back. Only running lights use the halogen bulb, which is why they look the way they do in a couple of the images below.

Thanks Chuck. Have to get used to how it looks, then decide if I want to keep.

I like the idea of the soft glow from an LED. I would also have to get used to the car looking like its frosting over.

Well, today I peeled all the PlastiDip off. Its novelty has worn off. What made me take it off was the fact that the car just didn't look quite as clean right after a car wash. There's something about a candy gloss about the car after a wash, and the lights diminished that effect. I loved the lighting, but that wasn't enough to justify keeping it on there.
To make up for the failed mod attempted, I had made a "promise to purchase" for a sweet M3 oval auto-dimming mirror. I found glare from people's headlights bothering me a lot more after my lasik surgery but never got around to getting an autodim mirror, so today I finally got one installed. I was allowed to rock it until payment.
Charlie did the wiring (super easy with the existing wiring there) and mounted it for me. It is definitely one of the biggest aesthetic mods for my interior, and it actually serves an awesome function as well, easing the pain of glare on my eyes. I highly recommend this mirror!
