You California boys are crazy! As much as I miss the good driving roads, I do NOT miss the cost of living there...

The tint film itself for crystalline is insanely expensive compare to regular tint.

3M had a sample desk lamp with several films on 2" square glass cards. The 5% film does reduce heat but at the cost of loss of light coming in. The clear 3m crystalline repelled heat better than the 5% tint and had me in awe. Unfortunately the cost of the film made me steer away from it.

I opt for regular 3M 35% and ask my friends tint guy to do it on the side for under $200.

Yeah, my local tint shop had the same heat lamp on a desk for the AirBlue80 and it is really amazing. As soon as I get my windshield replaced (with new RLS sensor) I will be getting it installed on the windshield...

Silly people. There are some awesome driving roads in the Bay Area. Jon and I have drove them together plenty of times over the years. Up in Sac they may be all straight, but we have plenty of hills and valleys that make things interesting.

Very true. Not a ton in SF proper though in my experience.
