After having my $10 bluetooth receiver I can say the reliability to connecting to my iPhone when I get into the car automatically is probably about 90%. I'm still trying to figure out why it sometimes doesn't see it. Maybe because of interference, range, or timing out since I have it in my glovebox and sometimes I don't go straight into the car after unlocking, thus turning on the power.

If you make the power in parallel with a plug, then you can have a flashlight and 12v power supply all in one! That's worth $500!
