Very nice Frank. In my head that had a scarface accent.

So the oil gauge just works... what about odometer functions?

Yes, the oil gauge just works but a lot of the other functions have to be programmed in. Terraphantm can explain it better than me.

Thanks guys, most satisfying paint correction I've done. There were three places on the car where the selling dealer's "detail shop" touched up some scratches with touchup paint. Wish I had taken some before pics of that touchup, they were awful. Only thing that made them tolerable is that they were black on black, thus hard to see at 10+ feet. I removed the touchup with some Langka touchup blob remover and hit the scratches with the DA Porter-Cable with some Meguiars m105 with an orange pad. Those scratches are 98% gone. I do have one pic of the trunk that the dealer originally sent me when I was first looking at the car. The large scratch luckily wasn't too deep, that and the other web-like scratches and are evident. It gives one some idea what a proper paint correction can remove:

With my coding and modifications, it's 100% functional (for manual cars).

If you take an M3 cluster and just install it without any mods, this is the result

    100% functional with no coding
    Tachometer
    Oil temp gauge
    Fuel gauge

Functional but needs coding to be accurate:
    Odometer
    Speedometer
    Coolant temp gauge
    MPG calculations

    May need coding
    DSC
    Alternator light
    Oil pressure / level light

    Not functional without additional modifications
Oil warmup lights (requires DME software mod, and needs LEDs to be changed if you want accurate redline)
Rear door LEDs for sedans (have to solder LEDs and resistors)

    Not functional ever (probably)
    Automatic transmission gear display

In addition to the coding and hardware mods, I reset the mileage on the cluster to 0 so that it can load the correct mileage from the LCM

Yes, but not for much longer. I start medical school at the end of the month, and anticipate getting busy (not to mention I'm in the process of moving and whatnot). Maybe once I get used to the new work load I can take on a couple here and there, but I'd have a hard time offering any sort of time guarantee
