Ah yes, Canadian womenz... I (barely) recall a weekend in NB, barely 19 years old, ready to make some seriously bad decisions with/for a Québecoise I had met in a local watering hole. She thought my horrible high school Parisienne French was somewhat charming. But I digress, I am no longer cool or possess anything that could be considered "game."

I totally agree about Canada, at least the parts that I experienced. If it wasn't so damn cold in the winter.

It's not the car you drive, it's how you drive it.

    Back on track, fellas...

The ZHP now has another option retrofitted: HomeLink

This is indeed the latest part number available from BMW for this part, which, according to RealOEM, was last available on the last E53 X5's in 2006. I'm not so sure why I was so obsessed with finding the latest part number; perhaps it was just because I wanted a guarantee that it would have rolling code support. Either way, it was in pretty good shape (compared to all the other HomeLink modules on eBay) and it was priced the same, so I decided to pick it up.

I used delmarco's excellent DIY located here:

    Voila:

I was asked by someone why not just get the rear view mirror with the HomeLink buttons on it. My answer is simple: so I can retain my amazing looking M3 oval mirror, of course! I can't give this puppy up; it looks too damn good, and matches my M3 side mirrors perfectly.
