Thanks guys :thumbsup
JP, I don't think it will be too complex. I'll have to take out my front passenger seat and glove compartment to set things up. As you know taking the interior apart is easy :)
I'm researching the "How to" so I can get this done :thumbsup

Where do the wires route, under the carpet, then through the trunk before going out to the bumper?
cakM3
04-05-2014, 07:52 AM
JP, the PDC sensors have their own wiring harness that plug into the PDC module. Then the PDC wiring loom, from what I understand, routes from the PDC module up the passenger's side to the glove compartment where it "plugs in".
This is where the research kicks in so I can find out where. Routing the wiring is the easy part :) Knowing where to make the right connections....well, that's the challenge ;)

My carbon fiber roof panel project got derailed due to necessary maintenance on both the ///M and my ZHP....funny how things come in pairs...in my case BMWs :)
Anyway I just e-filed my tax returns and my CF roof project is now on track....as soon as the money gets deposited I'll be sourcing a roof panel for my ///M :)

Been taking my time since returning from the reunion meet to really clean and put a proper detail on my ///M. Took off my BBS CH wheels in favor of softer riding 18" ARC-8's :)
Seems to me....either way I can't go wrong going with either wheel set ;)

I got sidelined with a few projects lately and ended up helping my stepson get his ride squared away....I will be ordering in June Hieu. Not installing the roof panel this year though....getting all the parts then next season I will be installing my roof panel. :thumbsup I saw updated pics in your thread...would love to see some high quality pics when you get the time :)

oh that's cool. but i'm sure looking at the roof all the time would make you want to install it faster lol yeah i'm going to try to take some better pictures for the csl roof thread on m3forum. my friend just lost his camera so all we have is my gf's 1020 to take pictures with lol

Hieu, the best part though is that I will have my roof panel....at least once I get my roof panel, I won't have to worry about whether or not it will be available when I'm ready to do this :)

Been spending most of the day getting my ///M ready for my upcoming road trip next week. Been waiting for the right day to finish my black interior refresh on my ///M and today was the day :)
The longest part of refreshing the rear deck shelf is the preparation and waiting between coats of fabric paint...the end results were worth it though :thumbsup
http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/05/25/me7anyra.jpg
http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/05/25/yhyte3ag.jpg
I improvised a bit to accomplish what I was doing. It worked out perfectly ;)
http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/05/25/eje4eqav.jpg
http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/05/25/unutepyj.jpg
My interior is now completely black, which is what I wanted. Unfortunately sometimes you get what's available but that doesn't necessarily mean you get exactly what you want....fortunately I'm in a position where I can simply replace the parts I don't want in favor of more desirable parts ;) Not finished "building" my ///M just yet...:)

Thanks Gary! Yeah....a friend came over with his Interlagos Blue ///M so I did the outer ring tail light mod for him and gave him my spare oval rear view mirror for all the help he provided when I did my rear deck shelf mod... It was a lot of work and he stayed the whole time...by the time we got done it was 9pm so I figured he "earned" the extra mod :) I believe in good Karma and it felt good rewarding a good friend for something he never expected :thumbsup

Hieu, we started sometime after lunch yesterday and just worked through... I was taking my time and wanted to make sure I got my rear parcel shelf done right. I also deleted the child restraint points when I put everything back. :)
I took some pictures today before getting side tracked with an impromptu bbq at "Charrie's Garage" today when some good friends stopped by :)

Since my OEM CSL door panels deleted my rear tweeters, I had to relocate them if I wanted to keep them in my stereo.... this was the obvious location to put them and the sound is still amazing :) I now have an ///M that has an all black OEM interior.... getting closer towards the goal of building my perfect ///M :)
sillieidiot
05-25-2014, 06:23 PM
why didn't you just delete the tweeters? you really only need the front stage since the sound is going to travel backwards anyways.
i see, so it was a short diy. iono why but my rear deck doesn't look like anyones i've seen so far. i don't have that rectangular plastic piece at all.
Looks great and finally complete! New sticker as well I see.

Thanks Sean! Yeah, I couldn't pass on the opportunity to get a set of "Respect Your Elders" stickers Brett sent me (afterall... I am now in the AARP age range :facepalm). I just changed the layout of the sticker such that it would barely be seen when driving but when you walked up to the car you could clearly see it in the rear window :thumbsup

Why aren't you asleep old man?
Been hanging out with you....guess staying up really late rubbed off...:)
Spent two glorious weeks driving my ///M full-time while in the metro DC area and it was awesome. While there, my ///M reached another milestone by passing 160k on the odometer and didn't even skip a beat. The car functioned/performed flawlessly as expected. It was a real pleasure taking my "Big Sexy" for the trip ;) I returned from my trip today and on my way home at a rest stop somewhere in Maryland I met a nice "BMW centric" couple who was cruising to New York in their modded 7-series. We kept passing each other while on I-95N and checking out each other's car. Later on I was gassing my ///M and then parked it at the convenience store to grab a drink and the couple pulled in. The guy apparently recognized my ///M and went inside looking for me. Needless to say, we met up and had an awesome chat (30 minutes). Ended up giving each other's phone number to keep in touch. Awesome people....this is one of the main reasons I enjoy long distance road trips with either BMWs... you never know who you will run into ;)
All in all it was a long but great day and trip back. I'm glad to be finally home and just chillin' for the evening.....going to catch up on much needed rest. No Bruce, not staying up late tonight :p

nah, it's on because they don't know how they turned it on and how to turn it off lol i think on BMWs, even if you accidentally turned it on. once you turn off the car, it's off and you have the manually turn it on each time. with audis/mercs, it stays on all the time until you turn it off.

Went to the local car museum on Sunday where they were hosting their annual "German Car Day." I have gone to this event for the last 5 years and even got my ZHP entered along with my ///M last year. Anyway there's always a great showing of many brands of German cars (BMW, Porsche, Audi, Mercedes, and Volkswagen). I took a few pics and am still processing them but wanted to show the only M1 that made it to this event. Of course you couldn't get a clean shot of this car because of the many spectators hanging around the car. This year it was so bad that I basically put away my camera after the first hour of trying to get some decent shots...
I took these shots of my ///M and loved how the grass came up to my lip spoiler :)

It was an awesome day to show our cars and everyone seemed to have a great time there. Thanks! Yeah a lot of people there (fellow ///M owners) were amazed when I told them how many miles were driven on my ///M.
When Bren (owner of Bren Tuning) came over to give me a printout of my dyno (pictured earlier) he told me he hasn't seen too many E46 ///Ms with that mileage pull so strong like mine did.
Guess I picked a very good ///M :) I will do everything to ensure my ///M has a very long and trouble-free life while it's in my caring hands :thumbsup

Thanks! For the time being I will be looking to source CSL headers for the ///M... eventually, I will change out my entire exhaust for more power gain, install under drive pulleys and stay with this setup until after my daughter graduates from college.
Long-term my plans are to do a full rebuild of my S-54 with stronger internals with the goal of boosting the motor with an ESS VT2-575 supercharger kit... but that's long term....
.... one thing to add about the dyno is that there were several ///M's that also were dyno'd and two of them pulled out 284hp on the same machine. Those two ///M's were completely stock (no CAI).

Yea I went through the same, but it was worst because it was during the snowstorm. So my roof kept getting delayed during the shipping by Fedex. It took 6 weeks to make my roof though, then like another month to ship due to the weather.

Yea I went through the same, but it was worst because it was during the snowstorm. So my roof kept getting delayed during the shipping by Fedex. It took 6 weeks to make my roof though, then like another month to ship due to the weather.
When I got Greg's email, I was told 2-3wks so I wasn't thinking 6wks.... anyway I just wanted to get a status on my roof panel and a response from Greg, which I got after posting on your thread at M3Forum. Appreciate your help my friend! :thumbsup

Yeah, Gary... I have heard disastrous results from the garage door spring breaking. Fortunately, my ///M came out of it unscathed. Surprised the maintenance staff at my apartment complex as well since they have told me that onsite one other garage door has failed causing damage to the car stored inside.

Since it's an apartment, I figured I would leave it to the maintenance staff to handle things ;) Glad to see you were able to find another solution to your problem Stuart :)

I'm currently running Apex ARC-8's 18X9.5 et22 and 18x10.5 et27 on my ///M. I'm thinking that these wheels should fit nicely with the new calipers...
Dafoe from M3Forum was running ARC-8s 18x9.5 et35 on front and needed a 5mm spacer to have his wheel clear the calipers. I think with spacers the 18's should fit with no real issues....we'll see. :)
I'm guessing I shouldn't need any spacers with my current wheel offsets....

My first set of lugs before the dealer ruined them were Work RS-R lug nuts. Mine were blue but with your Imola ZHP I would recommend going with the red lugs. I think they will look awesome...

They are M12x1.5 lugs

They will work but I don't like them because they don't come with locks. Anyone can easily rip off your wheels and lugs.....that's why I recommend the Work RS-R lugs....I like the finish of these lugs even though they are at the $200 range. For more you can go with Project Kics R-40 lugs.... if you're looking to just get the wheels mounted on your wheel studs then the Muteki lugs will suffice and still look great while not breaking the bank so to speak :thumbsup I have a set of Muteki's that I use only with my winter wheels for the ZHP :)

I found some scary looking wheel lock removal tools at the auto parts store the other day; I think all you need is an impact gun to use them. I could be wrong, maybe it's air tools, but regardless, it's doable! That scares the crap out of me that they sell this stuff at the auto parts store, enabling folks to go around stealing wheels...

yeah i like the regular bumper, but not regular bumper trying to be a csl bumper or you know, those csl bumpers that try to be m3 bumpers by having fogs. but then again, if you're going for an aftermarket look then i guess it would work.
honestly my problem with it is the lip. that thing is like way over exaggerated and looks nothing like the csl one piece at all. and it doesn't sit on the bumper flush. bothers me even more lol

Hieu, what I'm doing has absolutely nothing to do with trying to be a CSL front bumper. In fact I realize that these single piece lip spoilers do stick out just a little bit compared to the OEM CSL/vcsl v2 front bumpers. As you mentioned above, this is more about going for that aftermarket look on an OEM M3 bumper while keeping the fogs, which is what I'm going for :thumbsup

oh yeah i know that already. i recognize that the lip makes for an aftermarket look. in fact, even the one piece on the csl bumpers is the same thing (since OEM is only the splitters). i was referring more to like putting the CSL splitters on the m3 bumper i guess and calling it like a csl.
